It is only 8:15 and I already feel good about getting stuff done today! I implemented the plan of actually having breakfast with Hank in the morning, and got up at the same time he did and made espresso and scones. Origenally he was supposed to make the espresso, but I took pity upon him, since he was runing late as ususal. I still need to finish clearing the kitchen table (progress was made, but after more than a months worth of re-modeling and craft debris accumulated, it is slow going) so we ate in the living room. If is is ever actually going to be in to work "on time" we probabaly need to get up a half hour earlier - man that boy is slow getting up! I mastered the art of getting up in 10 minutes while going to PSU - when I am up, I am UP.
I have also placed my order with Fire Mountain Gems for the amber cabachons that will be the eyes in my little bird head pendants. For those of you who saw me working on the pewter versions, I decided to bite the bullet and cast some out of silver, that will be thinner, finer, and require less finishing. They will have some gilded sections and amber eyes. SO cool... Also along the SCA projects route I have been making slow but steady progress on my brtaid ornaments. Chasing is not something I do a lot of aside from taking bubbles off of cast thingies, so it is good for me to get all this practice! I am making a few mistakes, but have faith that when my braid ornaments are done they will rock lots. Now I just need to finish them by acorn. I have all of my bulls heads cast for the bits that go on my braids, I have most of my laurel leaes cast for my circlet thing, I finished the lozenge origenal for my shift ornaments, and dad apperantly made a master mold of it for me yesturday, and I have been working on my own secret project. Today I need to finish sewing my shift, invest my bird head, finish the wax for the pendant off of the pendant ornament version of the lozenge shift ornament, and finish phase three of secret project. Soooo cool! Love the metal bitz!
This weekend was good - worked on the house a lot, did many dishes, painted some in family room now that the floor is done, and also worked on the modern glass shop and developed lots of blisters in the progress.I am getting things done - yay!
