1. Are you named after anyone?
My full name is: Vandy Harriet Hall Bennett. Vandy is from a book my Manly Wade Wellman (sp?) called " Who Fears the Devil" which has a bunch of short stories about the Apalachans and the supernatural which are based on folk songs. Vandy, Vandy is one of the songs. Apparently they just liked the name, since I bear no resemblance to the blond, blue eyes sap who was being tormented by a witch. Harriet was the name of my great-aunt.
2. Did you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance?
There will be no children. But if there were they would have unique but not horridly complex names. Growing up with a unique name warps you. I can't imagine sharing it with many people.
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been?
No clue.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why?
Aelfgifu / Elfa - Duh! :-)
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/ your name constantly?
They usually just don't believe what my name is. I get: Candy (hence the pirate name since I hate this one - must mock it!), Brandy, Mandy, Sandy, Mindy, Vanity (Oh! HATE this one also!), Andy (don't mind this as much), etc. I usually say I am Hank, or Spiral Dragon, or Bennett if I am ordering take-out via phone. People also used to mispronounce Hall, if you can believe that. Wow. Just like corridor people.
