The weekend went quite well, with the exception of not getting nearly enough sleep. I am taking today to relax and recover some before pushing to get all of my stuff together for bardic. Thanks to everyone who came to my laurel elevation and vigil! And for those of you who couldn't make it, here are some highlights: Tamar the Serene playing a grand fanfare on the kazoo to herald our entrance into court; the tossing of many cool coins with my chicken head on them; Arlys saying I had "grown and enlarged" in the time she had known me and everyone cracking up; Kathleeen reading the limerick Grendall wrote in my honor  (he just had knee surgery so coudln't make it):

Grendal knows Elfa as Vandy,
With Many Skills she is Handy.
With Iron and Glass, She has lots of Class,
And when she Juggles she's Dandy;

seeing the amaizing scroll the Leah made me - so sosososo beautifull!; Actually getting all my bling together and getting to wear it all including the awesome medallion my dad, Morgan de Comyn, made me. Everything went really well. While I am sad that I coudln't have more of you there, it was really good to do this in my home shire, where my friends and family could be around and sillyness managed to seap into everything. And so none of you will feel you missed out on the grand sillyness enterily, here is a pic of everyone cracking up when Arlys was speaking:

I just talked to Shawn to whom I gave one of the coins. He DEMANDED to know how they were made and I finally convinced him they YOU made the dies which you etched YOURSELF without a single laser in the process. He was amazed and speachless. I told him, "Well that is why the SCA is so cool. Because we are all out there DOING the stuff not just pretending."

It was indeed a right shiny moment. I had a birds-eye view as Their Majesties' court herald (although Dame Zenobia did this particular item of business). BTW, I believe the word was, "expanded"--several possible and equally humorous interpretations are possible. :-)
