Busy weekend - I read most of the new Robert Jordan book (I have 1 chap. left), went to work, went to a small local SCA event which was surprisingly well attended, went to a scadian Halloween Party where I ran into random people who I used to know and had to figure out their names and I watched lots of gyrating women in corset tops, I blew glass, and I tried to get enough sleep. Could say more about all of the events. But I will just say that I have a bunch of glass pumpkins now - Yay! And next weekend is Naruto Party, and I MUST complete my costume!

Update: I forget, I also went to the new bouldering gym, the Circuit, on Friday night. It is amaizing! There was not a parking place to be had... not because there is no parking but because it was packed. The place is sort of like a club where you boulder rather than dance, but with a lot more light. Oh, and instead of watching gyrating women you watch muscular men. Yay! The floor is SO bouncy! There are boulders where you can top out and walk back down stairs, a kiddy boulder with a slide you can go down, a projector where they show climbing movies, a slack rope and funky monkey bar thingies, training boards... They had a DJ playing music so loud that it shook the walls we were trying to climb - that didn't really impact the climbing since it was all seriously frikkin' hard... It made club sport bouldering seem like sleeping. We have grand plans to go back next friday night. They are having their opening party/ Halloween party all weekend with free booze and more music, which should be pretty entertaining. So far Annie, Elizabeth, Jason, Hank and I are supposedly going. We will see what happens. Friday night is also dad's birthday, so maybe we will go out to dinner with him first.

Questions from Ursule:

1. Have you ever looked at Islamic-studies programs?

Yes. Especially the one at Harvard where one can do specifically art historical stuff and get monies.

2. If you could have a robot to do exactly one household chore, what would it do?

Wash every surface. Since I usually leave dishes on the counter this would mean dishes as well as floor, counter, stove, cats... It would be very handy.

3. Do you ever expect to need organic chemistry?

Need is such a relative thing. I could need it depending on what I want to do. I could also choose to avoid doing things where I would need it. I do need general chemistry in order to do some of the things I really want to do (work on glass enameling recipes for ex.) but that doesn't mean I really need it, or that I am getting off my but and re-learning everything I have forgotten in the last three years.

4. Est-ce que tu as vu Les Visiteurs?

Non, je n'ai vu pas Les Visiteurs.

5. Which is worse: East Coast summer, or East Coast winter?

East Coast summer. I have only been on the east coast in the spring, summer, or fall, so East Coast winters have been just fine for me. In fact, they have generally brought Christmas presents from my family and the occasional phone call, so they are actually pretty good. :-)
