Well, I just herd back from the vet, and apparently Theo got hit in the head by something and his eye is all swollen up because of that and the big bruise on his eyebrow. I first wondered is Rasputin could have been playing with him and accidentally thwacked him. The vet said maybe, but she really doen't know. He could have been hit by something or fallen (he has been up on the roof sveral times) or who knows... They didn't see any other signs of damage, but are going to keep him overnight since he has a slight temperature, and give him an anti-inflamitory and an anti-biotic, along with some fluids and call me in the morning. I feel like a horrible cat mommy. In the first place he is really supposed to be an indoor cat, but kept sneaking out so much that I have pretty much just been keeping him in at night. And either that wasn't good enough or I really need to watch him and Rasputin better, or really both. Obviously SOME sort of rearangement has to be worked out for letting the dog out so Theo can't get out the dog door, and so Theo has better spots to be away from Rasputin. I can totally see if Theo was just lumping and not playing with rasputin, that she might klober him while trying to get him to play, since she really doesn't know her own strength. Or what if he got hit by a car or something and was just really lucky? Meep... I am SO not happy and feeling SO guilty... :-( This is why I said I wanted indoor cats. They just always seem so much happier when I let them outside, so I end up giving in. And then something bad happens and I wonder what I was thinking. At least he will probabaly be all right. But man my day is just not getting any better.
