Hisoric Workshop LLC
Dec. 4th, 2006 04:35 pmSo for those of you who don't know, I have been plotting and planning a LOT of stuff lately. One of the big things is the Historic Workshop LLC. I convinced my parents and husband to go into business with me doing neat medieval and rendevous-era stuff. We submitted out papers forming our company, and now are just waiting for the news that we are official. Mostly we will be selling on-line, starting out with glass by my father (Morgan de Comyn) and myself, some of our cast metal work, dad's forged iron, and various other sundries as we develope new products. Some of our friends, such as Edwardus Honestus (a marvelous woodworker) may make items that we will sell on commision also. hanksan is doing our website and other computer stuff, and my mother (Jun of Morganshall) will be doing the office work and a bunch of the customer support and shipping, etc. This is really exciting and I am looking forward to when I can post that our website is up and running - the goal is to have it up in the spring some time. RIght now we are busting our butts trying to get all of our workshop space functional. We still have a bunch of work left to do on the glass shop - though dad is in the process of building our first small furnace (which we will probabaly replace later with a larger one when we needit). We need to get some front doors on our shop, do the wiring (which hanksan nicely volunteered to do) and get the shop space set up. We already have a blacksmithing shop set up under a temporary sturcture (a well-secured portable garage) and we have a room with all the jewelry making eqipment set out. We still need to set-up an office area, and also deal with a lot of smaller loose ends, but the whole deal is now seeming possible.
And then there is the house. Now it is looking like we are going to repair/re-build the house that is there and do an addition to it of a salt-box style house from firstday cottages. And thenI can walk to work. Which will be cool.
