I am resisting the temptation to raise edible door mice (glis glis) over the winter, then bake them stuffed with honey sauce and poppy seeds for my A&S entry. They are too cute and I know I would end up with exotic pets rather than a meal. But rabbits are cute too... maybe I could get someone who does the dirty work on rabits to slaughter and clean them for me. The Roman containers used for raising them are cool, and it would be vastly entertaining to make my judges eat them! This is what happens when I look though too many Roman cook books. I would still have the problem of locating the creatures, even if I did figure out where I would keep them. Some how I don't think the presence of various cats and puppy would be conducive to hibernating this winter.
