I just got my catalouge for the summer classes at Penland School of Crafts, and I really want to take a class this summer! Badly! So, I am thinking about applying for work study. There are of course a bunch of classes that are interesting, but the real *I WANT* class is the painting on glass class. The other really interesting to me class is the Vessels: Form and Pattern Class. But I think the painting on glass class has priority since I have struggled so much with this, and I love painting and I luv glass, and, and, and... yeah. Um. Wanna go! Luckily they are at the same time so I can only do one. Last summer they had a rockin' iron and glas class that I really wanted to go to. This year they have a metals and glass class, but it is small scale and more jewelry type metal plus torchwork, so not quite as much my thing. At any rate, if I could do a work study I would only have to pay my airfair and transport to the school plus reduced tuition... but I wouldn't have to pay for room and board. Meep. I want. One of the guys I know got to go to a class last summer, and the guy whos assistant he is payed for it - SO jelous! It is professional development, right? ;-)
Well, we will see. I haven't had a chance to mention this to Hanksan yet, and there will always be later, but... having big I want pains. ;-P
